This fellowship allowed me to investigate my passion for scientific research and showed me what it takes to be an innovative, skilled and professional researcher.
Kacey Egusa is a senior from Auburn, CA, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a minor in Physics. Upon graduation, she hopes to be accepted into a PharmD/PhD program. Her professional goal is to earn a PharmD/PhD, a dual doctoral degree for a pharmacist–scientist that will include working in clinical medicine and medical research.
Of her experience, Kacey says, “This opportunity meant a great deal to my undergraduate career. During this summer research fellowship, I learned that I could approach a problem that may arise during an experiment and reconsider and evaluate ideas that can improve my technique.”
